A San Bernardino woman and her dog were missing Monday following a mudslide that swept away a home in the foothills east of Palm Springs.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said in a message: “This morning, July 20, officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the Palm Springs Fire Department and the San Bernardino County Search and Rescue team received reports that Mary Ann and her dog had been missing from their home approximately three miles east of Palm Springs.
“The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Rescue Team joined the search efforts which included the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the National Park Service, the San Bernardino County Search and Rescue, the United States Forest Service, and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Air Support.
“The team focused the search on the area where Mary Ann was last seen. They did not locate her or her dog.”
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement Tuesday afternoon that said the sheriff’s office “initiated a search” that turned up the woman’s body along with her dog
