LONDON – Laying her racket and racket bag down, Iga Swiatek will have to wait a little longer.
She is set to face former world number one Ons Jabeur in the women’s singles third round match at the US Open.
Swiatek, aged 26, has been playing in a number of qualifying matches at the tournament but this will be her first appearance on the main draw.

Jabeur has not reached a Grand Slam final since 2014.
The two will meet in the third round on Centre Court, which is set to start at 3.00pm local time (5.00am BST).
After her win in the doubles first round, Swiatek, who has come through qualifying matches with a win over the world No. 13 Yanina Wickmayer and a runner-up performance over world No. 10 Yanina Puigserver in the women’s doubles third round, will return to her doubles partner, Anna-Lena Gruszczyca.
“The biggest thing for me is to win, because that’s what I’m looking for,” said Swiatek. “I was playing a good match today, which is a big
