Countdown to ‘Midnights’: What we know about Taylor Swift’s new album
The album’s release date has been revealed… and fans have been speculating about its content.
Singer and social media influencer Taylor Swift has revealed more details about her new album when she launched it at midnight on Valentine’s Day.
The album will feature six songs that have been written about the period from the end of 2008 through 2013.

The album title is ‘Reputation’
She said ahead of the release: ‘From here on out, the songs are completely about the time period in my life from the end of 2008 through 2013.
‘I feel like there’s not a single song that’s not about what I’ve gone through or about my self-discovery. It’s just kind of me speaking, and the people that I love.
‘This album is a reflection of who I am, and who I’ve grown as a person and how I feel.

‘And, yeah, there is a little bit of me that has always been in the background, and I am now proud to say that I have finally become that in person.
‘It’s funny, but some songs were written about my exes and it’s definitely got that feel to it. It’s definitely about the exes that I’m talking about.’
One of the songs, which will feature some of Swift’s original vocals, is called ‘You Need To Calm Down’, a song off 1989.
In the music video, Swift plays a woman on a mission to move on after a failed marriage. She takes to the streets where she finds her ‘old self’ and finds love.

A third song, ‘Beneath You’, which will be released as the second single on the album, was inspired by Swift’s childhood, her relationship with her parents and the death of her father.
