Novak Djokovic defeats Stefanos Tsitsipas in Astana Open final to win his 90th career ATP title
Novak Djokovic ended Stefanos Tsitsipas early in his quarterfinal against their first-round match in the first ATP 500 Astana Open in Astana, Kazakhstan on Thursday. The Serbian star won the match 6-1 6-3 6-1. It is Djokovic’s 90th career ATP title, the fourth of the current season, ending a 35-match winning streak against Tsitsipas.
The match was the first to be scheduled for the ATP 500 title match at the Astana Open in four years.
Tsitsipas’ victory came after he defeated No. 5 seed Marin Čilić and No. 8 seed Vasek Pospisil early on Thursday. Djokovic had earlier defeated fellow quarterfinalist Andreas Seppi.
